In the case of this beautiful dress from www.dorothyperkins.com yes patterns are flattering.
I bought this dress over a year and a half ago from the DP store in high Wycombe for £15 on sae from £25. I call this my MAGIC dress as I can fit many sizes funny enough. Its like the dress version of "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", but I wouldn't send my dress around....might not get it back!
So last year living with my housemates at university my friend asked to try on my dress. Now bear in mind I'm a plus size vision of beauty and she is MUCH smaller Asian princess (what I call her), so the dress wasn't gonna fit her in my opinion. Just to prove my point I went and let her try on the dress and to my surprise it fit.
The dress is made of an elasticated material ad has a belt like material to adjust the dress, altering the way it looks. The only difference is that it came up shorter closer fit on me (as I'm taller) and longer on her. So gutted that I do not have a picture of her in the dress, when I get one I will post it on my instagram page (www.instagram.com/fatandiwerkit).
First here is a few pics of how I wore it last time.....
You know me got caught checking my reflection out in the glass door......just a normal day.
The second time I wore it I decided to add some colour to the outfit and make it look a little different and paring it with a grey cardigan.
The positive thing about the dress is that because of the material and pattern on the dress it hides unwanted and visible mid section problems.
Bearing in mind both times I've worn the dress (shown above) I have not worn any support undergarments which would have helped give me cleaner lines.
If you are considering a dress that clings to you, patterns can be flattering like this one. Always try and find something that complements your figure.
Or better yet find yourself a magic dress!
